Some learning how to use Mr.Rebel (wallpaper thanks to SweetPaul Magazine's sweet blog)
Takin' this winter vacation pretty easily I might say! Tonight is a ski fest with some buddies, then maybe a ski at midnight deal for New Years Eve, then! its off to West Virginia to visit my dear cousins. More posts to come! Hope everyone enjoyed they're holidays!
I saw these on the kitchen section of apartmenttherapy.com last year and have been waiting for my chance to make them...well the time called when my friend threw a nice a little Christmas party last weekend. The boy and I were last minute attendees and I couldn't show up empty handed do I knew I could slap these together in the hour we had to get ready :)
I modified the recipe slightly in that I just boiled my Yukon golds until soft then mashed in milk and butter until it was good to the taste along with salt, pepper, and green dye (borrowed from my neighbor). Next I just scooped it in a piping bag and piped out some Xmas tree shapes onto a cookie sheet. Into the oven they went @350 for about 10 minutes/until a little browned and crispy. Lastly, I plated them on some Monterey jack shredded cheese for a snow effect and extra flavor.
I've been searching high and low for a case I would enjoy having on my phone...finally, I just decided to create my own! And here she is! Nothing a lil' cutsie fabric and modge podge can't handle.
Soo...went a little Christmas crazy again today...This time wrapping a couple gifts with my new gnome stamp. I'll be pumpin' out everyone's gifts with this style this year.
I think I like wrapping gifts more than shopping for the contents. If anyone out there wants a person wrapper, I will do it and do it in style!
Today was freezing. Mostly because my landlord doesn't like to turn the heat on. Grrrr. I made the boyfran whip up a soup to warm our souls and toes :) it was delish and gave me some motivation to get through these last 3 days of school! Good luck to the people who have finals! Get your boyfriends to make you soup! I promise it will make you feel at least a little more happier!
Just banged out this taupe polish with some minty polka dots in celebration of procrastinating finals studying. Just enough that I can still move on to next semester ofcourse :)
Other things keeping me pre-occupied and away from the headache known as cramming:
Where do I begin with this? Feist has been by my side since back in the day when I was 15 and fell in love with "Mushaboom". My dear (deer) friend Kim hooked me up with her tunes and I was struck. "Mushaboom" has been on play at least 4-5 times per week since that day. That song is everything I want in life and just hits me every time. If it hasn't got old for me yet, I doubt it ever will.
Feist has been someone I have wanted to see live forever and a day. It could not have come soon enough. Saturday December 3rd was the day for me. Pure joy in my face ^. When my friends and I pulled up to our hotel (we drove to Montreal 5 hours away since she wasn't making a stop on her tour in Boston) and parked the car and realized the door down from our hotel was the venue. A beautiful old theater setting, we got balcony seats. She played everything my heart desired and opened with "Undiscovered First" from the new album to set off a powerful set. (Take a listen from one of last month's shows down here)
I have never felt so delighted to be at a show. It was inspiring, beautiful, and perfect all at the same time. It made me want to pick up the old drumsticks and wail on the toms the way Chilly Gonzalez was. Man, he had soul, she had soul, I could have cried with joy that evening.
I go to shows/festivals pretty frequently but have never felt like this and nothing could have compared. The entire band put so much heart into their music, you could just feel it oozing out. I could go on for days about her, but I'll leave at this.
